A minute’s observation. Is it more
to stay for longer if you’ll learn from one?
A minute can have quite a wealthy store’s
return, with good enough observation.
A minute with a friend is not enough
to be happy with, but enough to know
enough to mirror the relevant stuff—
to copy good, take note, enough to grow
that much closer in kind and, too, in love
with what makes friend, with what makes kin,
with what makes anything worth speaking of.
Love loves what time at all has spent time in.
I’ve been changed by a friend in just a minute,
but not if I did not choose to dwell in it.
