CLXXX
Says he who takes no road that he is fine.
Or else that his demeanor’s quite patient.
But ‘neath that cool facade is naught a spine—
a man, not calm, but really complacent.
But I should be a fool to say that’s true,
who takes some roads and others takes no part.
From looking out, the one with ne’er to do
is really on a road but far apart.
It is indeed a road, no road to take,
at least if one is waiting to learn more;
for while the others, restless, soon forsake
the start, the patient have much more in store.
Mock not the one who hasn’t picked a path,
but watch, that you might learn what he now hath.
