CXLI: A wonder we were never meant to see
A lethargy more than I've ever known
possesses me before I'm out of bed.
Sapped from me by the screen of my cell phone,
my energy is left untapped and dead.
Its promises of lively content snore
with empty mental calories mundane.
And yet, despite how constantly they bore,
the scrolling reels and tweets remain my bane.
A dose of healthy loss would do me good.
To lose this miracle of modern day.
But ask a man to ponder, though he should,
the mindless thrill will always have its way.
We dogs return to refuse every day,
and what will ever get us all to sway?
