CXVII: A profile picture after many years
She said “I understand,” and she was right,
but hadn’t been before, I knew that much.
Some something had afflicted her tonight,
or else the words would not have come out such.
Perhaps a tragedy had taken on,
or something rather rapturous instead.
And in the fallout, with the fire gone,
she knew what always lived inside my head.
But either way, she saw me better…
