when food was very scarce, and hopes were dead.

“It’s you and me, and clearly, don’t you see—

we’re at our final breath,” is what he said.

I hasted with determination set,

I would not be the reason for our fall.

If eldritch titans’ favor we must whet,

it wouldn’t be my fear that caused their gall.
